RCMP say the remains of an unidentified person were found in the Yukon River just north of downtown Friday morning.
RCMP say human remains have been located in the Yukon River in Whitehorse.
Police tape was up behind the Spook Creek Station mid-day Friday as the body was found Friday morning.
RCMP were spotted conducting an investigation on the river, with officers several hundred metres out into the gravel section of the low-flowing river.
A section just off the Waterfront Trail behind the Spook Creek Station is blocked.
Police say investigators are working closely with the Yukon Coroner's Service.
A release says an identity has not yet been confirmed.
RCMP add more information will be released when possible.
