A man was taken into custody on Saturday after the alleged incident in downtown Whitehorse Thursday night.

Yukon RCMP has tracked down a suspect in connection with a dangerous driving and handgun incident in Whitehorse last week.

Police say a black pickup truck was spotted in downtown Whitehorse Thursday night driving erratically, with the occupants allegedly pointing what turned out to be a fake handgun out the window.

The driver escaped while being arrested, and was driven to the Carcross area. Police caught up with the vehicle and while three others were arrested, the driver was able to flee again prompting a search in the Carcross area Thursday night.

Police say a 24-year-old man was taken into custody after police surrounded a home in Judas Creek on Saturday.

RCMP say the man exited the home without incident and was arrested.

He appeared in court to face two charges--obstructing a peace officer and failing to comply with a release order.

A next court appearance is set for Wednesday.
