Lake Laberge's MLA announced his bid for leadership on Thursday afternoon.
Lake Laberge MLA Brad Cathers is throwing his hat into the Yukon Party leadership race.
At a press conference on Thursday afternoon, Cathers announced his bid for leadership and says he would be the best choice because he listens to people, and delivers results.
"The liberals have been quick to grow government and quick to lurch in the opposite direction by making cuts. They've shown a lack of capacity to govern. If we're successful in forming the government under my leadership, Yukoners can have confidence in a calm, steady hand steering the ship."
Cathers says under his leadership, the Yukon Party would take steps to remove the excess red tape burdening Yukon Businesses, practice fiscal responsibility and respect the rights of every Yukon citizen.
He says he would be the best choice because he listens to people, and delivers results.
"My fellow Yukoners, the choice is yours to make. This is your opportunity to choose who you want to lead the Yukon party. Choose a leader who listens to you, and delivers results."
He says his vision for Yukon includes a strong, diversified economy, quality healthcare an effective social safety net and more.
Former Pasloski cabinet minister Currie Dixon is also vying for the party leadership.
