The Bureau of Statistics has released the first numbers of 2019.
Yukon's unemployment rate is starting 2019 on a downward note.
The Bureau of Statistics says the number for January comes in at 3.6 per cent, which is down from four per cent in December.
The number of people without a job is 800, which is down by 100 from December, but up by 100 from January 2018.
There were 21,300 people working in January, which is down by 100 from December, and up by 100 from January of last year.
The labour force in Yukon stood at 22,100 in January, which ups up 300 year over year, but down by 300 from December.
Nationally, Statistics Canada reported more people also searched for work last month, which pushed the unemployment rate from 5.6 per cent in December to 5.8 per cent last month.
