Tungsten Mining Again
Wed, Jun 27th 2012, 08:25North American Tungsten says it has resumed production at its Cantung Mine in Eastern Yukon after a washout closed the only road to the minesite.
President and C-E-O Stephen Leahy says the road opened Sunday, with supplies and workers heading to the site shortly after, with operations rolling again on Monday.
Leahy credits quick work by the Yukon Government, and the Watson Lake Contractor for getting the road open again.
Mining activity was curtailed after the Nahanni Range Road leading to the site was washed out in three places two weeks ago cutting off supplies and sending 100 miners home with no work.
