Curling Prez On City Talks
Tue, Aug 28th 2012, 07:02The next two weeks will determine how the Whitehorse Curling Club functions this upcoming season.
The Club and the City are in the midst of coming up with a new lease agreement for the Mount McIntyre Recreation Centre.
The agreement proposed by the city would double the club's costs over ten years, which the club says it can't afford.
Club President Mark Evans is proposing a one-year extension of the current lease so the issue can be resolved, and members know what they're signing up for this season.
Council has put off moving forward with the agreement for two weeks to see what transpires.
Evans is optimistic more discussions will take place, and a deal can be reached, as figures proposed by both sides aren't too far off.
