I would like to sincerely thank you for the amazing
work you and your staff have done for Skills Canada Yukon.
Skills Canada Yukon has been a very active
organization for over 10 years, during this time it has been our mandate to
reach out to our audience youth aged 15-30 years of age in an effort to engage
them in trades and technology careers. We have done so through several outlets
web page, local newspapers and as you are very aware, lately your radio
station.
The Yukon has enjoyed unprecedented success of late
and the word is catching on like wildfire to every single community in the
Yukon. We enjoyed a Yukon Territorial Skills Competition with over 1000 people
in attendance but you must know this as CKRW was on site encouraging Yukoners
to visit Yukon College on competition day well done, participation number like
these rarely are seen in the Yukon.
I would like to share a statistic with you, before we
entered into our relationship with the RUSH our website would receive anywhere
from 8 to 18 hits per month. This number may be a bit more encouraging during
an event but not a significant increase.
Fast forward to a meeting we had in your office not
that many months ago where you tried to assure me that CKRW was the forum we
needed to reach our audience. Honestly, I was hesitant at the time; now with
the amazing success coupled with a recent Website Statistics report.
In just over 4 months of our partnership with the RUSH
we have had 6,555 visitors, the average has been 46.10 visitors a day the peak
was 54.36 per day. Pages viewed per visit vary but average 2.78 per visit and
the length of time per is 1:52.
Now when puzzled faces ask me what happened to see
such an amazing surge I can tell them it was the RUSH after all that's where
the winners tune in we have the medals to prove it - 3 silver and 2 bronze with
one going to the World Skills 2009.
Thank you, you made me and all of us at Skills Yukon
believers.
Sincerely,
Dan Curtis
