Whitehorse, YT – The last time the Waterfront Trolley rode the rails in downtown Whitehorse was five years ago but today, the nearly 100-year-old trolley is back in action.
Taking off at 11 a.m., the trolley will travel from the Roundhouse to Rotary Park with stops at the White Pass building and the Yukon Visitor Centre. The 30-minute trip ends back at the Roundhouse.
The MacBride Museum announced that the trolley would not be operating in 2019 due to issues securing funding from the Yukon Government that helps with trolley operation and maintenance.
For the rest of June, the trolley will now operate on Tuesdays to Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In July and August, the trolley will run from Tuesday to Friday due to safety concerns over the Riverfront Town Square that the City of Whitehorse will operate close to the Roundhouse.
Tickets for the trolley are $3 per person for all ages and are available at the front desk at the MacBride Museum or onboard the trolley.
