Whitehorse, YT – On Monday, Whitehorse RCMP located the body of the Arizona man who had been missing since a vehicle he was in went into the Yukon River near the Lewes River Bridge.
The Yukon Coroners Service is now investigating and an autopsy has been ordered.
On September 16th at 6:47 a.m., a pickup truck pulling a trailer carrying other vehicles went into the Yukon River near the Lewes River Bridge. There were two passengers in the truck from Phoenix, Arizona. One of the passengers was able to exit the vehicle however the second remained missing after the collision.
Specialized RCMP divers from British Columbia RCMP’s Under Water Recovery Team were deployed on September 18th.
RCMP continues to investigate the motor collision and they stated that no further details will be released at this time.
