Whitehorse, YT – Three people are facing a combined 38 charges after an RCMP investigation into threats involving a firearm near Carcross last week.
Police say they responded to a report on July 23 of threats and a theft from a property. The suspect vehicle fled from officers but was located later that evening south of Whitehorse. Three people were arrested without incident.
RCMP say they seized three firearms — two of them loaded — along with cocaine and $3,000 in cash. The arrests involved multiple units, including the Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Service and the Crime Reduction Unit.
Two of the accused, Michael Bland of Whitehorse and Desiree Minet of Whitehorse, have been released and are scheduled to appear in court on August 6. Lorne Ryan-Mckinnon of Tagish remains in custody.
