Whitehorse, YT – Yukon Minister of Justice and Attorney General Tracy-Anne McPhee has announced the appointment of a new judge to the Yukon’s territorial court.
Judge David Christie has more than 25 years of legal experience, according to a news release from the Yukon government, including extensive work in criminal, family, child protection, and mental health law.
Christie moved to the Yukon in 2002, early in his career, and worked with the Yukon Legal Services Society, eventually becoming their executive director. More recently he has also served as managing counsel for the justice department’s litigation group and as the assistant deputy minister of the legal services branch.
In the release, Minister McPhee praised his broad experience, strong leadership, and work with vulnerable people.
