Whitehorse, YT – The Whitehorse Fire Fighters Association is condemning the actions of several motorists who shouted verbal abuse at first responders while they worked at the fatal crash in Crestview yesterday.
In a Facebook post, the Whitehorse Fire Fighters Association IAFF Local 2217 says crews, along with EMS and RCMP faced the “anger of several abusive motorists.”
“We understand the difficulty by you missing your flight, or being late for work, or an appointment, but your language, your abuse, and your lack of empathy in the face of such loss were unacceptable and deeply disrespectful…” reads the post.
Yesterday, one person in a semi-truck died after a collision with a City of Whitehorse transit bus on the Alaska Highway and Kathleen Road in Crestview. The road was closed due to an RCMP investigation.
