Whitehorse, YT – A B.C. resident is facing charges after airport security in Whitehorse uncovered a throwing star and bundles of cash in his luggage.
The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority flagged the items during baggage screening at the Erik Nielsen International Airport on Sept. 9. RCMP did not disclose the amount of cash found, but said it was a “significant amount.”
The 30-year-old was arrested and later released with a November court date in Whitehorse for possession of a prohibited weapon. Police say he’s also under investigation for possession of property obtained by crime.
