Whitehorse, YT – RCMP in Tuktoyaktuk have charged a man after seizing a large quantity of vodka in the community.
Officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Nov. 27 and found 36 750 ml bottles of vodka and 12 375 ml bottles. The investigation began after officers learned that individuals from Tuktoyaktuk had purchased significant amounts of alcohol in Dawson City.
The man faces charges of unlawful sale and supply of alcohol as well as violating local liquor restrictions.
RCMP say bootlegging continues to pose risks to northern communities and are urging residents to report any information about illegal alcohol activity.
