Whitehorse, YT – Dawson City is warning residents after a dog attack in the north end of town left another dog dead.
Bylaw Services and the Dawson City RCMP responded Friday evening near Duke Street and Sixth Avenue. The dog involved was not located, and the investigation is ongoing, according to a Sunday social media post.
Officials say there have been no further reports of the dog running loose and it is not considered an active public safety threat. The dog is described as a black-and-white Thai Ridgeback pit bull–type dog.
Residents are being urged to use extra caution when walking pets or children, particularly in low-visibility areas. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dawson Bylaw Services or the RCMP.
