Whitehorse, YT – Whitehorse RCMP say multiple vehicles have gone off the road south of the capital as poor weather creates dangerous driving conditions.
Officers were responding to a collision at the intersection of Army Beach Drive and the Alaska Highway when they observed several vehicles in the ditch. Police say visibility is significantly reduced due to the weather.
Environment Canada has forecast periods of snowfall today through Wednesday, bringing a total of at least 10 cm.
Motorists are urged to slow down, drive to conditions and allow extra time to reach their destinations. RCMP say anyone who can postpone travel should delay their trip until conditions improve.
