Whitehorse, YT – Teslin RCMP have arrested two people and seized four bolt-action firearms following a weekend investigation.
Police say they executed a search warrant near the Alaska Highway on Friday, Feb. 27, after receiving a report that a firearm had been fired at a visitor to the home on Tuesday, Feb. 24. No one was injured.
Police arrested 39-year-old Matthew Levi Hamilton, who is facing seven charges, including pointing a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. A woman arrested alongside him was released and is scheduled to appear in court on April 2.
Hamilton is due back in court on March 4. The investigation is ongoing and RCMP ask anyone with information to call Teslin RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
