Whitehorse, YT – The Yukon Employees’ Union has been placed under administration by its national parent organization.
The Public Service Alliance of Canada says its national board appointed former national president Chris Aylward as administrator on Mar 6.
Under the union’s constitution, an administrator can be appointed temporarily to oversee operations and address internal issues. PSAC says the goal is to restore the union’s capacity to serve its more than 5,000 members.
The organization says elected leaders at the Yukon Employees’ Union will remain in their roles during the process, and day-to-day operations and member services will continue.
