Whitehorse, YT – RCMP have laid multiple charges in connection with a January shooting south of Whitehorse.
Police say an adult man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot injuries on Jan. 13, after an incident near the Lewes River Bridge.
A collision involving a truck, car and snowmobile reported shortly after was later determined to be linked to the shooting.
Officers searched a rural property two days after and seized firearms and ammunition, including one gun believed to have been used in the incident.
Cameron Gingell is charged with attempted murder and other firearms offences. Kaiya Denechezhe and Lamar Sykes face additional weapons-related charges connected to the items seized.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
