Whitehorse, YT – RCMP say a barricaded person incident in Mayo was safely resolved yesterday, with one person now in custody.
Police responded earlier on Tuesday to the Bogberry Street area. Police indicated in a release that they believed the individual may have been armed.
Officers set up a safety perimeter and asked residents to avoid the area while specialized RCMP units were brought in to assist.
Mounties say there was no indication of a broader risk to the public and are thanking residents for their cooperation while the situation unfolded.
