Whitehorse, YT – Whitehorse transit riders will have to pay more starting in July.
The cost of a single cash fare will rise to $3.50 from $3, while adult monthly passes will increase to $87. Day passes will cost $8 and a strip of 10 adult tickets will be priced at $33.
The increase is the latest step in a phased fare hike approved by council last year, when a single transit ride cost $2.50.
The city says the higher fares will help support and maintain transit service for Whitehorse residents.
