One of Whitehorse’s most popular restaurants will be going through re-branding
WHITEHORSE – A well-liked restaurant amongst Yukoners will be undergoing re-branding in the coming months.
Earls on Quartz Road will be operating through late June 2023, before it closes for a short renovation period, and then re-opens the doors as the Moose and Mountie as of July 1, 2023.
Northern Vision Development owns and operates the restaurant and says they have received tremendous support in the turnover. A new format named the Moose and Mountie, which will include a “Yukon Casual” eating experience, will take the place of the Earls concept. A Yukon spin on Canadian food will be featured on the menu.
The successful opening of the Belly of the Bison restaurant at the Edgewater Hotel in August 2021 by Katja Schmidt, Chief Hospitality Officer of NVD, and her team was followed by the opening of the Moose and Mountie. The “Belly” has had strong local support and developed into a productive portfolio member of NVD Restaurants Limited. The “Moose” will now be a restaurant owned and run by NVD in Whitehorse, joining the Belly of the Bison and the Gold Pan Saloon.
On June 24, Earls Whitehorse will close for renovations, marking its final day in business. On July 1, it will reopen as Moose and Mountie. This offers people two months to savour their final meals and memories at Earls and use their gift cards prior to the changeover to the Moose and Mountie on July 1st, according to Katja.
