A 23 year old Cole Sinclair is facing multiple charges relating to a break and enter incident in Whitehorse’s Whistle Bend neighbourhood
WHITEHORSE – RCMP has released information on the arrested suspect connected to the break and enter in Whitehorse’s Whistle Bend neighbourhood.
Cole Sinclair, a 23-year-old Whitehorse resident, was detained in connection with the break and enter file on May 2, 2023, by the Whitehorse RCMP GIS and other supporting units. He made his initial court appearance on May 3, and the following crimes were brought against him:
– Two counts, break and enter into a dwelling unit with intent to commit an indictable offence therein, Section 348(1) Criminal Code;
– Use of a firearm while committing an indictable offence, Section 85(1)(a) Criminal Code;
– Carry a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, Section 88 Criminal Code;
– Failure to store firearm in a locked container, receptacle, or room, Section 86(2) Criminal Code.
The courts granted him conditional release. He will go to court next on June 14, 2023.
As previously stated by the RCMP, they are grateful for the help and cooperation of the general people as we worked to resolve this issue successfully.
No more information will be disclosed because this subject is currently being heard in court.
