The City of Whitehorse is informing Yukoners that a stretch of Main Street will be blocked beginning this Friday in preparation for the opening of the pedestrian town square
WHITEHORSE – The Wilderness City is informing Yukoners that a portion of Main Street will be closed starting this Friday in preparation for the pedestrian Town Square launch.
The Town Square is set to begin on Friday, June 23, 2023, officially, however, the city will be closing Main Street from Front Street to 2nd Avenue ahead of time on Friday, June 16, 2023, to ensure all necessary preparations are put in place.
The City is taking applications from businesses and non-profit organizations who want to participate in the weekly Town Square markets. Apply online by 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 2023
The Town Square is set to have weekly markets, patios, pop-up food trucks, sitting areas, and areas for events.
