Whitehorse, YT – Air travel is becoming much easier after an interline agreement was reached connecting WestJet’s global network and Air North’s regional services in the Yukon and Northwest Territories to boost connectivity between Northern Canada and the world.
This collaboration between the two airlines means, that starting July 31st, travelers looking to travel between the territories or the world only need to book one airline ticket instead of booking separate flights with different airlines.
Checked bags will also be checked to your final destination, so flyers won’t need to recheck them during layovers.
By connecting with WestJet, Northern travelers will have more access to more places through the company’s large flight route network. Additionally, people from other parts of Canada more easily fly to northern communities.
“Safe, affordable, and seamless air travel is a necessity rather than a luxury for northerners,” said Joe Sparling, CEO of Air North, Yukon’s Airline in the release from WestJet. “This interline agreement will provide enhanced access to and from the rest of the world for Yukoners and for visitors to the Yukon.”
