WHITEHORSE, YT – The Whitehorse RCMP and The Yukon Coroner’s Service continue to investigate a fatal motor vehicle collision in Porter Creek, which had closed a portion of the Alaska Highway this past weekend.
RCMP say first responders were called to the scene at around 2:00AM Saturday morning, October 26th, after a collision involving a pick-up truck and a tractor trailer on the Alaska Highway, near the intersection of Wann Road.
RCMP say the driver of the pick up, a 37-year old male from Whitehorse, did not survive. His identity has not been released.
A detour had been set up and the Alaska Highway was closed between Birch Street and Wann Road until 5pm Saturday night.
