Whitehorse RCMP Detachment
Whitehorse, YT – An incident in downtown Whitehorse was safely resolved Tuesday after Whitehorse RCMP asked the public to avoid the area around 6th Avenue and Cook Street area.
Police say they responded to a situation earlier that day but have since confirmed that the area is secure and normal access has resumed.
In a Facebook post, Blood Ties Four Directions Centre says all staff, clients and community members are safe. The organization thanked emergency responders and noted that they are cooperating fully with authorities.
Blood Ties says it hopes to resume regular services soon.
The RCMP say they will be following up with more information as soon as possible.
