12 p.m. Update: Whitehorse RCMP are investigating a stabbing that took place early this morning.
Police say they responded around 7:50 a.m. to a report of people fighting in a car. One person was found with stab wounds.
A manhunt involving patrol officers, a police dog unit and traffic stops was launched for the suspect, who is at large. Police believe the individuals to know each other.
Officers are now scaling back the search in Hillcrest and continue to collect evidence and video footage.
RCMP are searching for a suspect following an assault with a weapon in the Hillcrest area.
Police say they are looking for a 25-year-old Indigenous man, last seen wearing light pants and a sleeveless shirt. He may be carrying a knife.
Anyone who sees someone matching the description is asked to contact police immediately.
