Whitehorse, YT – Yukon RCMP have arrested a Watson Lake man in connection with the death of a Ross River woman earlier this year.
Police say 50-year-old Ryan Laverdure was taken into custody on Dec. 3, and is facing several charges, including manslaughter, criminal negligence causing death, failing to provide the necessities of life and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
The charges stem from an April 10 incident, when RCMP and emergency crews were called to a home in Ross River and found 26-year-old Skye Dick deceased.
The Yukon Coroner’s Service and the RCMP’s Major Crimes and Forensic Identification units have been involved in the investigation since.
