Whitehorse, YT – Statistics Canada has released the results of its Canadian Community Health Survey from 2023 and 2024.
The Yukon ranked second among all provinces and territories for Life satisfaction, with 86.9% of surveyed Yukoners saying they were satisfied or very satisfied. The territory also placed second in Perceived health, with 55.4% of respondings ranking their own health as very good or excellent. Quebec came out first in both categories.
Yukoners placed third in the Sense of belonging indicator, with 72.4% of Yukoners responding that they had a somewhat strong or very strong sense of belonging. Nunavut came first in that category, at 83.2%, and Newfoundland and Labrador placed second, just squeaking ahead of Yukoners with 72.7%. Nationally, the Sense of Belonging figure was 60.9%, 11.5 percentage points lower than that for Yukon.
