Whitehorse, YT – Whitehorse RCMP are asking for witnesses after a shooting near the Lewes River Bridge on Tuesday night.
Police say officers and Yukon EMS responded around 7:30 p.m. to reports of an adult man with gunshot wounds near the bridge on the Alaska Highway, south of Whitehorse. The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
RCMP say the incident appears to be isolated and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have dashcam or other video footage, to contact the RCMP’s General Investigation Section.
