Whitehorse, YT – Yukon RCMP say a man wanted in connection with a firearms incident has died following a police-involved shooting near the McClintock River Bridge yesterday.
Police say they asked for the public’s help on Monday after a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest. According to Monday’s release, 55-year-old Christopher John Delaney was wanted in connection with a firearms incident.
Officers located the person yesterday around 1 p.m.
RCMP say a shooting occurred during the interaction, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Yukon Coroner Service and the Yukon Department of Justice have been notified, and the RCMP say no further information will be released at this time.
