Whitehorse, YT – Police in Whitehorse have identified the man who went missing during a solo canoe trip on the Teslin River as 31-year-old Dominic Bandorski.
The German canoeist left Johnsons Crossing on June 4. Last Thursday, police found his capsized canoe with camping gear, an inReach device and a lifejacket.
Police say it’s possible that Bandorski may have made it to shore or that his canoe and supplies drifted away from him.
Search crews are using helicopters, ATVs, a police dog team and volunteers at Yukon Search and Rescue to continue their search efforts.
Yukon RCMP are asking anyone on the water or travelling through the area to be on the lookout for Bandorski. He is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall and 165 pounds.
