Dawson City RCMP are asking the public to assist in identifying the people who may be responsible for the recent thefts, break ins and vandalism in mine sites and local goldfields.
DAWSON CITY – Multiple thefts, break-ins and incidents of vandalism have caused Dawson City RCMP to ask for the public’s help to locate suspects.
RCMP in Dawson have received a number of reports of theft and vandalism in the community. The latest reported incident happened at a communication tower on Henderson Dome sometime between August 25 and September 16th.
Dawson City RCMP state a significant amount of damage was done to the tower, solar panels and building using a firearm, on top of stealing spools of cabling.
Police have increased patrols but, mining operators are urged to install surveillance devices on their premises.
If anyone has information on the issue or one related to this, they are urged to contact Dawson City RCMP, or provide such information anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
