Yukon government says construction of the new Dawson City recreation Centre will begin in 2024
The much-talked about Dawson Recreation Centre is slated to be under construction in 2024.
The new facility is currently estimated to cost at least $60 million to build.
Community Services Minister Richard Mostyn says the project is overdue.
“I was just up in Dawson last week and toured the existing Recreation Center. It’s in need of replacement – there’s no doubt about it.”
It’s been under discussion for a few years now, with the opposition parties sniping at the Yukon government over the delays in starting and the cost.
