Support through the Youth Directorate and Aboriginal Relations is made available for youth-serving organizations in the Yukon
YUKON – Organizations serving the youth can apply for a new Mental Wellness Grant through the Youth Directorate and Aboriginal Relations.
The $300,000 will be provided to four local youth organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of the Yukon, Empowering Youth Society, the Heart of Riverdale Community Centre and the Youth of Today Society.
On top of the provided funding, $100,000 in support is available for other local youth-serving organizations across the Yukon that offer smaller projects valued from $10,000 to $20,000. The award will assist in covering qualified programming expenditures for initiatives addressing mental health concerns for kids that are not currently financed by other sources.
The Youth Mental Wellness Grant will assist in the funding of programs based on the 40 Developmental Assets Model, which has been modified for the Yukon by adding the knowledge of Yukon Elders and remote Yukon First Nation communities.
The Youth Mental Wellness Grant application deadline is September 15, 2022. Email applications to the Youth Directorate at gord.kurzynski@yukon.ca and chris.nash@yukon.ca.
