Starting today, contractors under the City of Whitehorse will be doing construction on the Black Street stairs
WHITEHORSE – Due to construction, the Black Street stairs will be closed starting today.

Also known as the Puckett’s Gulch stairway, they will be closed to walkers from Tuesday, July 12 to Thursday, July 14.
Some outstanding work on the stairs is needed and the City of Whitehorse’s contractor, Wildstone Construction will be conducting the work.
Residents will still be able to climb the escarpment with a detour. The detour starts near the Black Street stairs entrances.
The City of Whitehorse thanks the public for their patience and asks people to follow all construction signage posted.
