The Yukon Government announces the $150 Inflation Relief Rebate will continue to affect electricity bills
YUKON - The Yukon government is extending its rebates on electricity bills, saying it's a step forward in fighting inflation.
As the fight against inflation continues, the Yukon Government announces the third extension of the Inflation Relief Rebate. This is in an effort to reduce the impact of inflation on Yukoners.
Yukon Development Corporation Minister John Streicker announced the $150 Inflation Relief Rebate will continue to affect electricity bills. The rebate will once again apply automatically to ATCO Electric Yukon and Yukon Energy electric bills, regardless of usage.
During the months of March, April, and May, all non-government residential and business power users will receive a $50 credit on their bills.
The government will continue to monitor inflation and living costs to determine when to extend the refund on power bills again.
The Inflation Relief Refund has been extended for the third time. The Yukon Government launched this initiative in March 2022, and it was first extended in September 2022.
