Two New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed; New Exposure Notices Issued

Five cases in the territory are the P1 (Gamma) variant of concern.

Two new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the territory by Yukon health officials. One is a new case, the other is one of the cases that was listed as "probable" yesterday. 

There are now nine active cases in the territory. Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Hanley says that five of these are now confirmed as the P.1 (Gamma) variant of concern. One of the new cases is based in rural Yukon, while the other case is in Whitehorse. 

Yukon's total case count is now at 92. 

Two new public exposure notices have been issued. The following sites and dates may have been sites of exposure:

  • Save On Foods
    • Thursday, June 3, between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Bigway Foods
    • Thursday, June 3, between 3 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.

Anyone experiencing symptoms should arrange for testing.
