Route 5 in Whitehorse will be altered to respond to the recent landslides on Robert Service Way
WHITEHORSE – The restrictions of Robert Service Way has resulted in significant alterations to a local bus route.
The closure of Robert Service Way is forcing a Whitehorse bus route to make some changes.
The Number 5 bus which services Copper Ridge, Lobird, and parts of Granger is being changed to service only the Lobird area, while users in Copper Ridge and Granger are being told to use the already-congested #2 route.
Until further notice, officials say, there will be no Route 5 service along Robert Service Way, in Copper Ridge, or along Second Avenue, south of Main Street downtown.
Last year’s landslide also caused difficulties and confusion for the #5 route.
