Official CKRW 2026 Slapshot Showdown – Official Contest Rules 

The 2026 Slapshot Showdown (the “Contest”) is sponsored and administered by CKRW The Rush By entering participants agree to abide by the following Official Rules. 

1. No Purchase Necessary

No purchase is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. 

2. Contest Period

The Contest begins and ends on dates as announced on-air and on ckrw.com (the “Contest Period”). All entries must be received within the Contest Period to be eligible. 

3. Eligibility

The Contest is open to legal residents of Yukon who are 19 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of CKRW Radio Ltd., participating sponsors, prize providers, and their immediate family members and household members are not eligible to enter. 

Winner and guest must hold valid government-issued identification required for air travel. 

4. How to Enter

There are three (3) ways to enter:

(i) The Slapshot Sounder – Cue to Text

Listeners must listen for the Slapshot Showdown Sounder (hockey horn + hype audio) during regularly scheduled programming.
When the Sounder plays, listeners must text the keyword “SLAPSHOT” to the number announced on-air. 

• Standard messaging rates may apply.
  • Entries are valid only during the announced cue-to-text window.
  • Unlimited entries permitted during the Contest Period. 

(ii) Trick Shot Video Entry

Participants may submit an original hockey trick-shot video by: 

• Uploading via ckrw.com, or
  • Tagging CKRW on social media and using#2026slapshotshowdown 

Videos must be the original work of the entrant, must not infringe on the rights of any third party, and must be suitable for public broadcast. 

By submitting a video entry, entrants grant CKRW Radio Ltd. an unrestricted, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to use, edit, reproduce, publish, distribute, and broadcast the submitted content, in whole or in part, on-air, online, on social media platforms, and in any other promotional materials, without further notice or compensation. 

All eligible trick-shot entries will receive one (1) entry into the Grand Prize random draw. 

(iii) Social Power Play Entry

Participants may earn one (1) bonus entry by completing all of the following steps: 

• Like the official contest post
  • Follow CKRW and participating sponsors
  • Tag at least one friend in the comments
  • Share the post to their story 

All steps must be completed to qualify for the bonus entry. 

5. Prize

One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded, consisting of: 

• Two (2) tickets to the Vancouver Canucks vs. Utah Mammoth game on April 4, 2026
  • Round-trip airfare for two (2) via Air North
  • Two (2) nights accommodation in a one-bedroom deluxe suite at the Rosedale on Robson Suite Hotel
  • $300 CAD spending cash 

Approximate retail value $3000. 

Prize must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions, transfers, or cash equivalents (except spending cash portion). CKRW reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary. 

Travel dates are fixed. Winner and guest must be available to travel on specified dates. Any additional expenses not specifically listed are the responsibility of the winner. 

6. Winner Selection

One (1) winner will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period. 

The draw will take place on a date announced on-air and online. The selected entrant will be contacted by phone and/or email. If the selected entrant cannot be reached within 48 hours, declines the prize, or fails to meet eligibility requirements, another entrant may be selected. 

Winner must correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to claim the prize. 

7. General Conditions

By entering, participants: 

• Agree to comply with these Official Rules
  • Consent to the use of their name, likeness, voice, image, municipality of residence, and submitted content for promotional purposes without further compensation
  • Release CKRW Radio Ltd. and prize providers from any liability arising from participation in the Contest or acceptance/use of the prize 

CKRW reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or violates these rules. 

CKRW reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Contest at any time without prior notice if necessary.
